Career Opportunity: Power Automation Engineer - Field SME

Location: Field-based, travel required

Full Time, Direct Hire Position

$40-$75 per Hour Plus OT & Bonuses

Our client - a national leader in disaster resilience, infrastructure innovation, and cutting-edge power distribution systems - is expanding its elite Field Services team across North America and is now on the hunt for a subject matter expert (SME). Please note this is being posted in multiple states as they have over 9 field offices (and are still growing) all in different state locations, so multiple location candidates might be a fit.

What You'll Do As thier Power Automation Engineer SME, you'll lead field efforts for automation and control systems across critical power infrastructure. You'll support field techs, solve complex onsite problems, drive product improvements, and collaborate with engineering and production to commission and troubleshoot LV/MV switchgear, SCADA systems, PLCs, and protective relays.

You're a Great Fit If You Have

Degree: BSEE or MSEE

Experience: Multiple years of experience in power control systems (PLCs, HMI, protective relays)

Technical Skills: Familiar with Modbus/TCP, OPC, DNP3, TCP/IP, SCADA, EPMS/BMS.

Have been hands-on with automation programming and ladder logic (IEC, Python, Java, SQL, HTML)

Are proficient in working with major OEMs (ABB, Eaton, Schneider, SEL, Siemens, etc.)

Travel: Willing to travel up to 45-50%; must live near a major airport
