PrimaryOne Health is currently seeking a Safety Officer for our health centers.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Patient Safety & Risk Management
Facilitate reporting, investigation, and analysis of adverse events and near-misses.
Lead root cause analyses (RCAs) and track corrective actions to completion.
Promote a non-punitive, transparent safety culture across all departments.
Collaborate with clinical leaders to design and implement risk reduction strategies.
Monitor incident trends and develop proactive risk mitigation plans
Give oversight to FTCA risk mitigation strategies and risk assessments as well as updating Risk Management Plan
Regulatory Compliance & Audits
Ensure compliance with HRSA, HIPAA, OSHA, CMS, and state-specific health regulations.
Lead internal audits, mock inspections, and readiness assessments.
Develop and update safety and compliance policies; monitor for alignment with regulations.
Conduct compliance training sessions and maintain training records for staff.
Infection Control & Environmental Safety
Oversee the development, implementation, and monitoring of infection prevention and control protocols.
Lead the organization’s response to infectious disease outbreaks, including coordination with public health agencies.
Ensure compliance with CDC, & OSHA infection prevention guidelines.
Manage sanitation, PPE protocols, and exposure risk management plans.
Collaboration & Communication
Partner with the Compliance Officer and departmental leadership.
Serve on the Safety, and Quality Committees.
Communicate key findings and compliance updates to executive leadership.
Attendance, promptness, professionalism, the ability to pay attention to detail, cooperativeness with co-workers and supervisors, and politeness to customers, vendors and patients.
Occasional travel required
Other duties or special projects as assigned.
Successful candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. Minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare safety, quality, or compliance. Familiarity with healthcare regulatory frameworks: HRSA, OSHA, HIPAA, CMS, CDC, Joint Commission. Demonstrated experience with RCA, adverse event tracking, and infection control. Certification or coursework in Infection Control, Workplace Safety, or Healthcare Compliance. Experience working in a FQHC or community health setting. Familiarity with safety auditing tools and EHR-based reporting.
