Accounting Manager

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the accounting department, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting, compliance with applicable regulations, and the implementation of strong internal controls. This role plays a key part in month-end and year-end closings, financial audits, and process improvements, while managing and mentoring a team of accounting professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting team, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.

Ensure timely and accurate month-end and year-end closings, including preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules.

Maintain and enforce internal controls to ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies.

Coordinate and manage external audits, tax filings, and regulatory reporting.

Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses.

Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff; conduct performance evaluations and training as needed.

Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Collaborate cross-functionally with other departments (e.g., HR, Operations, Procurement) to support business objectives.

Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.

Qualifications:

Bachelor s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or MBA preferred).

5+ years of progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory or management role.

Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting principles.

Experience with accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, Sage, SAP, or similar ERP).

Advanced Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
