Department Details

Join an active and growing Neurodiagnostic Team and learn a new career from the ground up. This position will be focused on the areas of EEG testing and monitoring for all age groups, neonate through adult. After orientation a varying schedule of shifts will be assigned and the position will include on-call hours. As the EMU grows all trained staff will work in the EMU as well.

Job Summary

Responsible for performing procedures or testing for all patient populations. Understands testing equipment: structure, function, use, effects on patients, and maintenance

Applies anatomy and physiology principles (normal and abnormal) to procedures

Has working knowledge of diseases and pathological conditions

May monitoring

Evoked potentials

Nerve conduction studies

EEG testing

Qualifications

High school diploma or its equivalent is required. Graduated from an approved program of Electroneurodiagnostic Technology (ENDT) or similar education is preferred. Completion of department approved training program is required.

Working knowledge of neuroanatomy, physiology, basic electronics and electrical safety, general knowledge of electroencephalography (EEG) and evoked potentials (EP) instrumentation, pattern recognition, and various medical and pharmacological conditions is preferred. Experience in area of specialty or applicable health care experience is preferred.

Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six weeks of employment and re-certification as necessary is required.
