Job Description
Position Summary:
The Master Planner/Scheduler is responsible for developing, maintaining, and optimizing the master production schedule for machine, molding and assembly operations. This role ensures efficient use of resources, alignment with customer requirements, and coordination across departments to meet delivery targets and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and manage the master production schedule for the machine shop and assembly areas, balancing capacity, material availability, and customer demand.
Translate sales orders, forecasted demand, and inventory targets into executable production plans.
Coordinate with Engineering, Purchasing, Quality, and Production teams to ensure accurate routing, lead times, and BOM requirements.
Monitor and adjust the schedule to accommodate changes in priorities, delays, or capacity constraints.
Communicate proactively with internal stakeholders to provide updates on schedule changes, delays, or risks to on-time delivery.
Collaborate with inventory control and procurement to ensure timely availability of raw materials, components, and subassemblies.
Maintain accurate production data in the ERP system, including work orders, start dates, and completion forecasts.
Drive schedule adherence and participate in daily production meetings.
Analyze historical trends, capacity data, and performance metrics to continuously improve planning accuracy and production efficiency.
Support the implementation of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
5+ years of experience in production planning or scheduling in a manufacturing environment (electronics or precision machining preferred).
Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems, experience in implementing ERP systems a plus
Knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes.
Proven ability to balance multiple priorities and manage production changes in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Proficient in Excel and scheduling software tools.
APICS certification (CPIM or CSCP) is a plus.Company Description
