Key Responsibilities
Training Delivery & Oversight
Conduct classroom and onboard training sessions aligned with the organization's training matrix.
Provide hands-on instruction to crew, particularly on bulk carrier operations and safety management systems.
Facilitate simulation assessments, navigational briefings, and webinars.
Vessel Visits & Inspections
Travel to vessels as needed (including sailing onboard) to train crew, oversee defect rectifications, and prepare for port state and RightShip inspections.
Crew Development & Mentorship
Supervise cadets and trainee ratings, including career guidance and planning of sea-going assignments.
Conduct interviews and mentorship for crew promotions from ratings to officer level.
Crew Change & Planning
Manage and coordinate crew changes, liaising with manning agents and internal departments.
Communicate with principals regarding schedules and crew movement updates.
Verify seafarer documents, follow up on expirations, and handle travel-related briefings.
Performance & Documentation Management
Evaluate crew performance, monitor training progress, and ensure accurate system updates.
Handle PDOS orientations and ensure timely submission of mentoring records.
