Group Finance Manager Independent Reporting to Managing Director

LOCATION: Rose -Hill - Republic of Mauritius
THER REQUIREMENTS
Must understand Mauritius Accounting practices and applicable Tax regulations
Must have extensive experience in account management, document management
and finance knowledge, including VAT Returns, Annual Returns & Other Annual
Returns
Must be able to interact and coordinate with multiple, internal and external
stakeholders and resolve conflicts diplomatically
QUALIFICATION:
Chartered Accountant/ Bachelors Degree in Accounting/ Finance or Masters in
Accounting
Experience in a managerial financial role within the construction /property
development or related industry for about 10 years
Exposure to corporate culture and working with EPR systems
2 to 3 years of Overseas experience (preferably in Mauritius) for applicants
Holding a recognized accounting qualification such as ACCA, CPA, CIMA, ACA is
highly preferred
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Proficiency in accounting software and ERP Systems such as BuildSmart
Strong skills in in Excel, including financial modelling and Data analysis are essential
A solid understanding of International Financial reporting standards and local tax regulations is important
SCOPE of WORKS:
The Group Finance Manager will be responsible for handling and supporting the overall
Group accounting, Finance & Tax administration.
The Group Finance Manager shall comply with Mauritius accounting practices and suggest
and guide Management on the applicability of taxation practices.
The Group Finance Manager shall lay prudent Finance Policies for the Group.
The Group Finance Manager shall ensure that all company information is Legally compliant
with our operations in Mauritius
The Group Finance Manager shall participate in strategic and long-term planning
DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:
Accounts, Financial & Tax Responsibility.
Accounts & Tax along with Legal Compliances:
Handling a Team for timely compliances of function areas of Accounts, Finance, Tax,
Legal & Secretarial
Understanding of statutory requirements and ensuring adherence to financial
regulations
Ensure compliance with tax, legal and financial regulations in all jurisdictions where
the Group operates
Key responsibilities include Payroll, Book keeping, Bank Reconciliation, Invoicing,
Accounts Admin and Reporting by handling a team
Manage accounts payable and receivable and maintaining the general ledger,
including account reconciliations and the production of various financial reports
Ensure timely and correct financial disclosure for internal and external reporting
Prepare business analysis reports, identify operational/ financial variances and advise
Management of possible causes and improvement options
Monitor debtors and determine liquidity planning with the Managing Director when
needed
Prepare (financial) reports and ensure all relevant financial information is available
for internal and external and external Auditors
Ensure that systems and procedures comply with company policies, the reporting &
accounting strategy, accounting standards and applicable rules & regulations
Project- related work as required
Preparation & finalisation of Accounts for Mauritius Jurisdiction
Study International taxation laws and suggest applicability and rationalisation
Guide the team on expected and newly formed tax laws in Mauritius jurisdiction
Conduct audit and impart education to site and other departments on the efficient
usage and applicability of taxation in Mauritius
Monitor sites and make site visits to sites if required to check whether the tax
compliances are adhered properly and if not get the same corrected
Guide on Custom duty and its applicability across Mauritius Jurisdiction
Liaise with tax consultants for various taxation guidances required
Looking after the complete compliance on taxation in the Mauritius jurisdiction
Attend taxation queries of various department and represent company to various tax
authorities
Any other activity which may be required under the job profile
FINANCE:
Corresponding with Financial Institutions, Multilaterals Agencies for funding
requirements
Preparation of assessment for working capital financing, Trade financing and project
financing
Issuance of LC, BGs, Buyers credit, Bond and arranging Bill Discounting
Preparation of various cashflow and budgeting requirements for the entity
Arranging fund and non-fund requirements of the company, JV or any other
company of the entity
Looking after various documentation for treasury management, working capital
financing, Trade financing and project financing
Opening International bank accounts and maintaining relationships with these banks
along with keeping a track on transactions of these banks accounts
Looking after local Guidelines and compliances & other statutory guidelines for the
companies and subsidiaries
Any other activity which may be required under the job profile
