Job Title: Principal Software Engineer
Work Location: Herndon VA
Everfox has an open position for a Principal Software Engineer to work in the Federal product development group. The successful candidate will work with engineering teams to assess, prototype, develop, and integrate functional and security capabilities into new and existing products. This position requires strong technical experience in software engineering, Linux/UNIX system development, operating systems and network security.
Responsibilities
Participate in, and contribute to, the design and architecture process for cross-domain application architecture for the various cross-domain transfer applications
Use existing web based UI/UX frameworks to create new functionality while retaining consistent look and feel
Database integration (LDAP, SQLite3, etc. ) and SQL query tailoring experience
Liaise with engineering personnel familiar with existing cross-domain product functions for potential integration into an application solution
Develop demonstrable proof-of-concept implementations of the cross-domain applications utilizing architectural design concepts and/or documents
Utilize industry best practices for secure coding to produce applications that reduce attack risk and fail in a secure manner
In conjunction with the Assessment and Authorization (A&A) team implement and provide support for an A&A procedure utilizing existing plans and documentation.
Implement a test procedure for the cross-domain application(s) utilizing existing documented test plans to ensure verification and validation of product
Work with the customer and Professional Services to support field deployment and resolve issues
Essential Functions
Analyze system and security requirements to design and develop software components for new and existing products
Participate in requirements gathering, design discussions, and code review/audit
Research and evaluate technology and third party software capabilities for integration with existing company products
Produce and maintain engineering artifacts such as architecture and design document, test procedures, installation and user guides
Experience and Skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or an equivalent technical discipline
Minimum 10 years professional experience
Minimum 6 years of experience in Linux/UNIX software development
Strong programming experience in C/C++ and another programming language such as Java, Rust, or Python
Ability to obtain US government security clearance if needed.
A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is:$196,200.00-239,199.00 USD
The actual salary offered may vary within the range based on a candidates' unique experience, locale, and business needs. In addition to a base salary and bonus plans, Everfox offers a generous benefits package including flexible PTO, a 401k match, and contribution to healthcare coverages.
