Job Description
We are seeking a motivated and technically proficient Transmission Line Engineer with experience or a strong interest in high-voltage transmission systems up to 500kV. The ideal candidate will hold an active EIT (Engineer-in-Training) certification and support the design, analysis, and development of overhead and/or underground transmission line projects. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic team of engineers on regional and national transmission infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist in the design, analysis, and optimization of transmission lines up to 500kV, including structure selection, line routing, and conductor configuration.
Perform engineering calculations, line modeling, and loading analysis using industry-standard tools (e.g., PLS-CADD, PLS-POLE, SAG10).
Develop and review construction drawings, bill of materials, and specifications in compliance with applicable codes (NESC, ASCE, IEEE, etc.).
Support field investigations, route surveys, and coordination with construction and permitting teams.
Contribute to technical reports, project documentation, and client deliverables.
Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams including civil, geotechnical, and environmental engineers.
Ensure designs meet regulatory and utility standards while promoting safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil, or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
EIT certification (Engineer-in-Training) is required.
Knowledge of high-voltage transmission line systems (up to 500kV), components, and design principles.
Familiarity with PLS-CADD or similar transmission line design software is preferred.
Strong understanding of relevant codes and standards (e.g., NESC, ASCE 10, IEEE).
Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office Suite; experience with GIS is a plus.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced team environment.
