Our bespoke platform handles millions of transactions per day. It considers billions of data points which give engineers the opportunity to build technology at scale, collaborate across teams and gain exposure to a wide range of technology.
We are looking for a Lead Build & Release Infrastructure Engineer
Target total compensation ranges from $385,000 - $520,000, including a fixed annual salary of $260,000 - $320,000, an employee equity plan grant, and world-class benefits.
Equity grants are issued in good faith and are subject to company policies, board approval, and individual eligibility.
As our Lead Build & Release Infrastructure Engineer, you’ll play a dual role: delivering impact as a hands-on engineer while guiding others through technical leadership. You’ll set direction for our build and release platforms, mentor engineers, and ensure our systems scale with the needs of a fast-moving business. This is a true player-coach role—expected to ship production code while also shaping practices, roadmaps, and outcomes for the team.
About the role:
Provide technical leadership and direction for our build and release strategy, from source commit through production rollout
Own and evolve our CI/CD pipelines (Buildkite or equivalent), ensuring lightning-fast feedback loops and safe, repeatable deployments
Design and optimize container build pipelines (ECR/Docker), Helm charts, and progressive delivery mechanisms (Argo Rollouts, canary, blue/green)
Champion infrastructure as code—driving the evolution of Terraform modules and CI-driven workflows for resilient provisioning
Operate and improve our artifact ecosystem (Nexus, custom plugins), ensuring libraries and packages remain secure, performant, and developer-friendly
Act as a player-coach: contributing code while mentoring teammates, leading by example, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement
Depending on experience and interest, take on either dotted-line project leadership or direct people management responsibilities
Requirements
About You:
5+ years driving high-velocity build & release, DevOps, or platform engineering practices in distributed environments
Deep expertise in CI/CD design and tooling—especially Buildkite or equivalent platforms—and hands-on mastery of Terraform
Strong background in container technologies (Docker/ECR), Kubernetes packaging (Helm), and progressive delivery with Argo Rollouts
Proficiency in scripting languages (Bash, Python, or similar) plus fluency with Linux tooling and cloud-native workflows
Track record of mentoring engineers, leading technical projects, and influencing stakeholders across teams
Passion for automation, velocity, and reliability—with a pragmatic approach to balancing innovation with stability
Experience managing or guiding teams (formally or informally) is a plus, but not required
