The Opportunity
Lesley University’s Department of Illustration and Visual Narrative is seeking a qualified adjunct faculty member to teach: Digital Image Making (IILLU 2910-01), Tuesdays 8:00 AM – 11:45 AM, Fall semester, Fully in-person, on-campus.
Course Description: This course is an introduction to tools and methods for digital image creation. Students will explore techniques for developing both raster and vector art using various software programs. Utilizing digital mark making tools students will draw from observation and reference. Digital drawing skillsets will be integrated with the exploration and application of color theory, compositional development, and file preparation for a variety of print and digital formats.
Qualifications and Capabilities
A successful candidate will have:
Bachelors of Fine Arts (BFA) in Illustration or a related studio arts field
2+ years minimum of professional experience working as freelance illustrator or working on art directed or client-based projects (print and/or digital)
Demonstrates successful experience teaching studio art or illustration at the undergraduate level
Demonstrates advanced studio competencies and fluency in: digital rendering (raster and vector), drawing with a stylus and tablet, image editing, file preparation for print and digital formats
Proficiency in the Adobe Creative Suite on Mac OS platforms required
