Full-time permanent role

Based in Britomart, Auckland

Mō te tūranga About the Role

Reporting to the Director, Asset Finance, the National Manager Equipment Finance is responsible for the strategy, delivery and performance of Westpac’s business objectives and financial targets in the Equipment Finance Market across the Corporate, Agribusiness and Business Banking segments (“Core Segments”).

Key responsibilities include:

Increasing the profile of Equipment Finance across Institutional & Business Banking (“IBB”) and, as applicable, across Consumer Banking and Wealth (“CBW”).

Playing an active role in contributing and leading the nationwide market outreach of Westpac’s Equipment Finance proposition across the Core Segments, together with the relevant relationship teams of each relevant IBB Business Unit, with a focus on business and market share growth.

Collaborating and supporting stakeholders through the provision of timely, accurate and insightful Equipment Finance information and advice.

Accountable for setting strategy and business planning objectives and influencing of applicable sector policies and processes relating to Westpac New Zealand’s Equipment Finance products.

Identify and pro-actively implement strategies in target markets to generate new customers and deepen relationships with existing customers.

Implement channel and customer engagement strategies to build Westpac’s brand and market reputation in Equipment Finance and key industry segments.

Maintain and share a deep understanding of the economic characteristics of Equipment Finance.

Analyse market trends and economic conditions to inform strategic decisions relating to the performance of Westpac New Zealand’s Equipment Finance products

Ensure a high level of performance of Equipment Finance products across the bank which meet and exceed targets and contributes positively to the performance of the wider IBB business.

Tertiary qualification in a related field (e.g. Finance, Accounting, Law, or Business/Commerce).

Industry expert in Equipment Finance combined with extensive understanding of Banking and the Financial Services industry and trends impacting Equipment Finance.

Previous experience in corporate banking and lending with proven leadership.

Able to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.

Strong commercial and business acumen and a strong understanding of credit risk.

Sound knowledge and understanding of product and pricing.
