Job Description
Central Ohio Primary Care is seeking an Echo Sonographer for our Cardiac Testing office located in Columbus, OH. This position is part of a collaborative team used to evaluate the cardiovascular health of COPC patients and to ensure high quality of patient care, along with RNs, physicians, exercise physiologists and nuclear technologists. The Echo Sonographer performs diagnostic non-invasive cardiac ultrasound procedures, including resting echos and stress echos, with or without the Definity image enhancer. Responsibilities include maintaining and updating all documentation relative to the study and updating electronic health records accordingly. This position is a contingent, as needed, position working primarily evenings and weekends.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Obtain the patient’s medical history to gather information prior to exam. Explain examination process to the patient.
Perform resting echo and stress echo examinations per department accreditation and cardiologist guidelines. Explain examination process to the patient. Responsible for set up of equipment.
Analyze and report on cardiac exam results.
Enter test data into reading system for Cardiologist to review (Fuji for Ohio Health and McKesson for Mt Carmel).
Implement safety standards and quality control procedures.
Participate in life saving measures when necessary.
Assist in office responsibilities such as answering the phone and completing patient charts.
Participate in reviews required for the department ICAEL accreditation.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education, Licensures & Certifications
Required: Graduate of an Accredited Ultrasound Program which includes Echocardiography
Preferred: 3-5 years of previous healthcare experience
Required: Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), Registered by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) or Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI as an RCS)
Required: BLS certification

Computer literate, especially with Electronic Health Systems
