Overview

The Jefferson Hotel is seeking a professional and self-motivated Bell Staff & Room Service Attendant for a full-time overnight hybrid role. This dual-function position supports both Bell Services and In-Room Dining during overnight hours, ensuring exceptional service, efficiency, and guest satisfaction around the clock. The ideal candidate will be dependable, calm under pressure, and able to manage responsibilities independently while upholding the highest hospitality standards.

Key Requirements

Availability: Must be available to work full-time overnight shifts, including weekends and holidays, between approximately 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM.

Licensing: Must possess a valid Virginia driver’s license with a clean driving record (0+ points).

Experience: Previous experience in overnight hospitality, bell services, or in-room dining is preferred.

Professionalism: Must maintain a polished appearance and provide attentive, reliable service with minimal supervision.

Basic Functions & Scope

This overnight hybrid position combines duties from both the Bell Staff and In-Room Dining teams. The individual will be responsible for guest arrivals and departures during the night, handling luggage and deliveries, as well as preparing and delivering late-night and early-morning room service orders. Flexibility, attention to detail, clear communication, and independent decision-making are key.

Duties & Responsibilities

Bell Services (Overnight)

Welcome late-arriving guests and assist with luggage and check-in escort services.

Provide support for early morning departures, including luggage retrieval and transportation coordination.

Monitor guest needs, lobby cleanliness, and security presence during overnight hours.

Respond to guest requests for deliveries, amenities, or luggage storage with discretion and efficiency.

Communicate any guest issues or service updates to the appropriate departments during shift handoff.

Seek guidance, updates, or clarification from the Night Manager when questions or challenges arise.

Maintain a strong working knowledge of Door Staff duties, and coordinate closely to ensure seamless guest transitions; support and expect reciprocal understanding from Door Staff.

Room Service (Overnight)

Prepare and deliver in-room dining orders accurately and professionally.

Set up trays and carts to meet hotel presentation standards.

Handle special guest requests, dietary needs, or late-night orders in coordination with kitchen staff.

Quietly retrieve trays and service ware in a timely manner.

Maintain cleanliness and restock the in-room dining area for morning operations.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent required.

At least 1 year of experience in hospitality or customer service preferred; overnight experience is a plus.

Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand or walk for extended periods.

Excellent communication, time management, and guest service skills.

Dependable, professional, and capable of working independently during overnight hours.

Collaborative mindset with the ability to share operational knowledge across roles and departments.
