Statement of Purpose:
The Trust Administration Paralegal must accurately and efficiently administer trusts and estates. This person will be a well-spoken, motivated, organized, and friendly individual with a genuine desire to help families through an extremely difficult time.
The applicant will be a hard-working professional able to manage the multitude of paperwork and legal documents that come with settling an estate. This person must also have the capability of working with a high degree of attention to detail and must be able to work diligently under pressure.
Objectives, tasks, duties, functions & responsibilities:
Meet with clients, take phone calls, answer emails.
Call various financial institutions, life insurance companies, and financial advisors.
Draft documents, deeds, correspondence to clients, beneficiaries, Agreement and Release forms, etc.
Research properties, confirming ownership.
Coordinate distribution for beneficiaries.
Record deeds / mortgages / release of mortgage.
Education Required: Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent in work experience
Qualifications / Specific Skills required: .
At least 1 year of experience in Probate / Trust Administration
Proficient in all Microsoft office programs
Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
Work Location: Grand Rapids, possibly other office locations (Portage, Norton Shores, and Holland as needed and infrequently)
