Job Description: Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical ( Float Pool)

Location: Columbus, OH 43210

Shift: Night, 3 x 12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)

Duration: 13 weeks

Weekly Breakdown:

Weekly Gross: $2,297.80 Per Week

On W2(Taxable): $820.80 Per Week

Stipend(Non-Taxable): $1,477.00 Per Week

Position Overview : We are seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join our MedSurgical Float Pool at Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. This role involves providing high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a medical-surgical setting, with flexibility to float across units within the organization as needed.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in a MedSurgical environment.

Flexibly float between units of equivalent or lower acuity to meet staffing needs.

Monitor patient conditions and respond promptly to changes.

Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including IV teams, Physical Therapy, Respiratory Services, Pharmacy, and Rapid Response Teams.

Maintain accurate and timely documentation using EPIC electronic health records system.

Adhere to isolation precautions and infection control protocols.

Participate in emergency response and cardiac monitoring activities.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum 2 years of experience in a Medical Surgical nursing setting.

Preferred experience in teaching hospitals, Trauma Level I & II, and travel nursing.

Current BLS and ACLS certification required; CPI and NIHSS preferred.

Proficiency in IV therapy, phlebotomy, PICC line management, respiratory care (CPAP/BIPAP, tracheostomy management), wound care, and cardiac monitoring.

Skilled in handling patient ratios of approximately 1:4-5.

Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.

Experience with EPIC or similar electronic charting systems.
