Job Title: Quality Technician

Department: Quality

Accountability: This position reports to the Production Manager

Responsibilities:

• Create known-good EOL test computers and images, and maintain asset pool

• Perform front-line troubleshooting, and log issues, and escalate issues as appropriate

• Maintain inventory of all EOL test computers and equipment

• Issue EOL test computers and equipment per work orders

• Provide team leads with appropriate equipment for current and upcoming work orders

• Replace test computers and equipment on a schedule and as needed in the event of a failure

• Track condition and location of computers, log issues and approximate number of test cycles

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs and replace equipment proactively

• Plan for replacement computers and test equipment

• Work with appropriate personnel to set test plans for new platforms

• Document, implement, and validate test plans and testing requirements

• Verify ESD policies and correct build practices are being followed

• Verify EOL tests are being performed correctly by operators

• Verify that EOL testing equipment is functioning correctly

• Perform monthly ESD audits and log results

• Perform testing of ground path, wrist bands, mats, etc.

• Maintain and replace ESD equipment as needed

• Maintain printers, including replacing label stock and ribbon, and verification of calibration

• Ensure that label printers, barcode scanners, and other equipment is functioning properly

• Track and replace equipment proactively

• Identify and implement process improvements to include new or improved equipment

• Participate in and lead training and retraining of employees in ESD and EOL testing

Requirements:

• High School diploma or general education degree (GED)

• Minimum of two (2) years quality technician experience

• Proven ability in dealing with customers, suppliers, and agency representatives

• Experience troubleshooting Microsoft Windows and applications on varied hardware

• Knowledge of ESD, including proper controls and use of equipment for verification

• Knowledge of manufacturing processes, particularly assembly

• Knowledge of and experience in an ISO 9001 Quality Management System

• Knowledge and experience with metrology, and mechanical/electronic instrumentation

• Experience reading engineering drawings, software manuals, and technical documents

Additional Requiremments:

• Experience using calipers, gauges, and related equipment in a manufacturing environment

• Experience with the quality audit processes and reporting

• Experience with statistical process control methods and metrics

• Experience working with in a technical support or troubleshooting role

• Ability to translate verbal and written instructions into process documentation

• Experience with Microsoft Suite software on a Windows platform

• Detail-oriented, with excellent organizational and record-keeping skills

• Ability to multi-task and problem-solve

• Strong written and oral communication skills

• Must occasionally be able to lift and move from 50 to 100 lbs.
