In 2016, BASF expanded the scope of its portfolio by acquiring Chemetall, the global surface treatment business of Albemarle, with the aim of making the Coatings division a more comprehensive solution provider. Chemetall develops and manufactures customized technology and system solutions for surface treatment. Its products protect metals from corrosion, facilitate forming and machining, and ensure proper preparation of parts for painting and optimal paint adhesion. These chemicals are used in a wide range of industries and end markets, including automotive, aerospace, aluminum finishing, and metal forming.

With experience dating back to 1970 in Turkey, our young, dynamic, and highly educated technical staff strive to provide the best solutions and services to Turkish industry. At our facility located in the TAYSAD-TOSB Organized Industrial Zone in Çayırova, Kocaeli, covering a total area of 11,327 m with 5,800 m of indoor space, we respond to customer demands with maximum speed and efficiency.

Major Accountabilities

To be the representative of the customer within the company to ensure customer requirements and to create awareness of customer requests

To introduce Chemetall A.Ş. products to the customer technically and commercially

Preliminary trials of Chemetall products in pilot plant

Conducting laboratory trials and analysis of Chemetall products and/or customer baths

Conducting market research and acquiring new customers

To carry out and report project studies for the introduction of new products and processes to the market

Assist in solving technical and commercial problems for customers

Supporting his/her manager in future-oriented targets during the period and/or budget periods

To provide the department with new products and services that it can offer to the market by ensuring communication with related organizations abroad

To be responsible for all kinds of leadership behaviors that need to be progressed managerially in case of having employees reporting to him/her

To help subordinates by sharing technical and commercial information with them

To take into account the negative environmental impacts that may arise in all kinds of activities to be undertaken and to try to reduce these impacts

To act in accordance with the Laboratory Occupational Safety Instruction during work

In case of detection of an unsuitable product, to decide on product withdrawal together with the Technical Director and Quality Management System Manager, Sales Director, Country Sales Manager

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

Graduated from a university with a degree in Chemical Engineering or Chemistry

Minimum of 5 years of professional experience

Proficient in English (a second language is a plus)

Holds a Class B driver's license

Willing and able to travel

Strong knowledge of SAP and MS Office applications
