Position Summary:
The State Housing Coordinator serves as a vital leader within Ohio’s substance use recovery housing network. This position oversees the daily operations of multiple recovery housing sites, ensuring safe, supportive, and well-maintained environments for individuals in recovery. The Coordinator will supervise house managers at each location, provide crisis management, and coordinate logistics including transportation, supplies, inventory, and maintenance needs.
Key Responsibilities:
· Supervision: Provide direct supervision, support, and guidance to house managers at all recovery housing sites. Facilitate regular check-ins, performance evaluations, and ongoing professional development for house managers.
· Day-to-Day Management: Oversee the daily operations of recovery housing sites, ensuring compliance with organizational policies, state standards, and best practices in recovery support.
· Crisis Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for crisis situations. Respond promptly and effectively to emergencies, behavioral concerns, or incidents, working collaboratively with staff, clients, and local agencies as needed.
· Transportation & Logistics Coordination: Coordinate transportation needs for residents, including appointments, employment, and recovery-related activities. Ensure safe and reliable transport through scheduling and resource management.
· Supplies Distribution & Inventory: Manage procurement, distribution, and tracking of supplies across recovery housing sites. Maintain accurate inventory records and anticipate supply needs to ensure uninterrupted support services.
· Maintenance & Facilities: Monitor the condition of all recovery housing sites. Coordinate regular inspections, maintenance requests, and repairs to uphold health and safety standards. Liaise with maintenance staff and external vendors as needed.
· Site Inspections & Safety: Conduct regular inspections of all recovery housing sites to ensure compliance with safety, health, and program standards. Coordinate and oversee emergency drills—including fire, severe weather, and evacuation
procedures—and organize periodic room searches in accordance with established protocols to maintain a safe and substance-free environment.
· Oversight of Daily Schedules: Supervise and support the implementation of structured daily schedules at each recovery housing site, ensuring activities and routines are maintained to foster stability and progress in residents' recovery journeys.
· Communication & Reporting: Foster clear communication between house managers, residents, and organizational leadership. Prepare and submit regular reports on site operations, incidents, logistics, and resource utilization.
· Collaboration: Work cooperatively with community partners, service providers, and state agencies to enhance support services for recovery housing residents.
· Policy & Compliance: Ensure all recovery housing operations adhere to current state regulations, ethical standards, and organizational policies.
Qualifications:
· Bachelor’s degree in social work, public administration, human services, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
· Minimum of 2 years’ experience in substance use recovery, supportive housing, or related human services, with supervisory experience preferred.
· Strong crisis intervention, conflict resolution, and team leadership skills.
· Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
· Familiarity with inventory management, facilities maintenance, and logistics coordination.
· Valid Ohio driver’s license and willingness to travel between multiple housing sites as necessary.
· Proficient in basic computer applications (Microsoft Office Suite, email,etc.).
· Commitment to trauma-informed, person-centered, and culturally competent approaches.
Work Environment & Schedule:
· Full-time position with flexible hours as needed to respond to operational demands and emergencies.
· Work involves travel across multiple recovery housing sites within Ohio.
· On-call availability for crisis response may be required.
