Description
Position Summary:
Employee is responsible for construction and repair of wastewater lines which includes laying pipe the installation of clean outs and the renewing of wastewater services, while making sure the job is done in a safe, timely manner.
Essential Duties:
Performs construction and repair of wastewater lines which includes laying pipe grade
Installs, caulks and fits pipes in proper manner
Performs construction and repairs of manholes, including some cement work
Cleans wastewater lines
Operates light trucks and other equipment
Requirements
Knowledge and Skills
High school diploma or equivalent
Must have a valid driver’s license
Should have good oral and written communication skills
Should have a minimum of 9 months experience in pipe laying field and two years related experience
Physical/Environmental Requirements
The environmental working conditions of this position include entering confined spaces and dealing with harmful waste, gases and odor. Constantly working in wet surroundings and high temperatures and very frequently working around loud noise, low temperatures and working outside. Also, frequently works around hazardous machinery, low noise, cluttered floor areas and poor ventilation. Occasionally works at night, inside and around dust or fumes.
