We're a small UK charity looking for a friendly and detail-oriented freelance finance manager and bookkeeper to support us on a rolling basis.
They will provide professional financial support to the Managing Director and Trustees of The Gold from the Stone Foundation, ensuring efficient and effective running of the finances of the charity.
We use Xero for our accounts and CAF Bank for our day-to-day banking.
We need someone who understands how to work with CAF Bank and Xero and is comfortable preparing monthly bookkeeping and quarterly management accounts.
Activity will include: - Managing the Foundation’s CAF bank account, to include acting as the account’s primary administrator and liaison with the counter signatories; - Providing quarterly management accounts reports to the trustees based on budget - Liaising with the MD to ensure prompt payment of bills and grants; - Liaising with the inspecting accountant and preparing the financial report for the Charity Commission; - Liaising with the Foundation trustees and reporting at Board meetings in the period.
The role will require a minimum of 2 hours a week (at £30/hr), scaling up depending on the charity's activity, and at the end of each quarter etc.
This role, whilst freelance, is ongoing, with no fixed end to the contract.
We're looking for someone UK-based, with strong experience who has an understanding of charity finances (ideally familiar with CAF Bank). We’re a small team and would love to work with someone friendly, approachable, and not too formal!
