Position Title: Production Utility Operator
Location: Ontario, California
Role Summary: The Production Utility Operator's primary role is to ensure the final product leaves the machine floor and is transferred to the Shipping Department with the correct size and labeling identified. The Production Utility Operator also assists other Operators in upset conditions as needed in safe, reliable, and efficient manner.
What You'll Do:
Operate roll bander and labeling station
Cut cores to desired size for winder
Housekeeping of area
Supply winder with cores of appropriate specifications
Loads cores into winder in proper order
Performance machine wash-ups and clean-ups as directed
Brings sheet to dry end of the breaks
Supply production area with needed materials
Cut down off-quality rolls
Assist on the paper-machine during condition upset and on scheduled outages
Other duties as assigned
Compensation, Benefits & Perks:
Starting Rate $23.81
Rate Progression:
Starting hourly rate is $23.81, with an increase to $27.84 after 6 months. A "1 Skill Rate" of $32.40 per hour can be earned in less than 6 months with certification of skill
Quarterly bonus up to $800, dependent upon company and individual performance

What You Need to Know:
Hiring Process
Initial application review
Invitation to test for the position on-site in Ontario
Testing consists of a Mechanical Aptitude exam and Use of Information exam. Both must be passed with a minimum score of 70% to move on
Virtual panel interview
On-site tour of facility and working conditions
Final review and offer
Background check & drug screening
Working conditions: paper mill environment (out of the elements but not temperature-controlled), 80-90 degrees in winter months, up to 105 degrees in summer months
Physical requirements:
Must be able to walk 80% of work day
Ability to lift to 35 lbs.; occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to bend, squat, climb, twist, reach above and below shoulder level, and kneel
Must be able to use of repetitive use of hands; simple grasping, pushing, pulling and fine manipulation
Schedule: The schedule for this position is a rotating shift schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays. Most shifts are 12 hours. In a 28-day rotating schedule, employees work 15 days and have 13 days off.

Pay Transparency: The starting hourly rate for this opportunity is $23.81 per hour. Other rewards may include quarterly bonus eligibility, which is based on company and individual performance.
