One of our renowned clients, a leading U.S. law firm is seeking an experienced Banking & Finance Lawyer, with strong expertise in leveraged and real estate finance, to join its APAC Banking & Finance team. This strategic role focuses on developing legal knowledge and innovation across leveraged finance, real estate finance, and other financing transactions.
Key Duties
Legal and Market Expertise: Provide expert guidance on banking and finance matters, including direct support on client work where needed.
Training and Development: Design and deliver targeted training programs (seminars, workshops, induction courses) and mentor junior lawyers to build technical capability across the team.
Current Awareness and Thought Leadership: Monitor legal and market developments, produce newsletters and articles, and identify opportunities for new legal products and services to enhance client value.
Knowledge Management: Draft and maintain standard forms, practice notes, and deal summaries; ensure materials are current and accessible through internal KM systems.
Innovation and Strategic Projects: Champion new knowledge tools and contribute to global initiatives that improve collaboration, efficiency, and English law expertise in Asia.
Collaboration and Continuous Learning: Respond to legal queries, engage in regular team meetings, and attend external training to stay up to date with legal and business trends.
Requirements
At least 7 years post-qualified experience in Banking & Finance, with strong expertise in leveraged and real estate finance (real estate finance preferred), gained at a leading law firm or financial institution
Law degree and bar admission in Hong Kong or Singapore
Excellent drafting, research, and communication skills and confident working across teams and levels
Strong organizational abilities, understanding of legal learning processes, and comfort with legal tech and knowledge systems
