Job Title: Nerve Conduction and EMG Technician

Location: Dominion Neurology Associates, 23610 I-10 West, San Antonio, TX

Department: Neurology / Electrophysiology

Reports To: Neurologists

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Nerve Conduction and EMG Technician to perform nerve conduction studies (NCS) and assist in electromyography (EMG) procedures. The technician will work closely with neurologists and Clinical Neurophysiologist ensuring patient comfort and quality data collection during NCS and EMG procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct nerve conduction studies (NCS) under the supervision of a neurologist

Assist physicians with electromyography (EMG) procedures, including patient preparation and equipment setup.

Explain procedures to patients and ensure patient comfort throughout testing.

Apply electrodes and record nerve responses accurately using specialized equipment.

Maintain and calibrate EMG/NCS equipment to ensure optimal performance.

Accurately document test results and patient data in electronic medical records (EMR).

Follow strict infection control and safety protocols during all procedures.

Assist with scheduling and patient flow within the clinic or hospital setting.

Stay updated on advancements in neurophysiological testing and attend training as required.

Collaborate with neurologists and other medical staff to ensure quality and efficiency in testing.

Qualifications & Requirements:

Education: Associate’s degree in neurodiagnostic technology, medical assisting, or a related field preferred.

Experience: Prior experience performing NCS or assisting with EMG procedures is highly desirable.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in operating nerve conduction and EMG equipment.

Soft Skills: Strong patient care skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements: Ability to stand for extended periods and assist with patient positioning.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in neurology, physical medicine, or rehabilitation settings.

Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.

Ability to work independently while maintaining a team-oriented approach.
