About the Role:
The Civil Construction Foreman plays a pivotal role in overseeing and coordinating all on-site activities to ensure the successful completion of civil construction projects. This position requires managing teams of laborers and operators, ensuring adherence to safety standards, project specifications, and timelines. The foreman acts as the primary point of contact between field personnel and project management, facilitating clear communication and efficient problem-solving. By monitoring progress and quality control, the foreman ensures that construction milestones are met while maintaining budgetary constraints. Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in civil construction with at least 2 years in a supervisory or foreman role.
Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and safety regulations.
Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Preferred Qualifications:
OSHA 30-hour safety certification or equivalent safety training.
Experience with heavy civil infrastructure projects such as utilities.
First aid and CPR certification.
Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate daily construction activities on-site, ensuring work is performed safely, efficiently, and according to project plans.
Manage and lead construction crews and equipment operators to maintain productivity and quality standards.
Interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings to guide construction processes and resolve any discrepancies.
Monitor project progress, report status to project managers, and implement corrective actions when necessary to meet deadlines.
Enforce compliance with safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment for all personnel.
Conduct regular inspections of work performed to ensure adherence to quality standards and project requirements.
Coordinate material deliveries and equipment usage to optimize workflow and minimize downtime.
Provide training and mentorship to crew members to enhance skills and promote professional development.
