The Director of Senior Executive and Physician Recruitment is responsible for the strategic oversight, execution, and continuous improvement of the recruitment process for physician and physician-leader roles across the health system. Reporting to the Vice President of Executive/Physician Recruitment, Leadership Development & Succession(VP), this leader ensures alignment with organizational goals, workforce planning strategies, and physician leadership development initiatives. Together with the VP the Director works collaboratively with clinical and administrative leaders to attract and onboard high-performing, mission-aligned physician talent to advance clinical excellence, innovation, and health equity.

Reporting Relationship:

The Director reports to the Vice President Executive/Physician Recruitment, Leadership Development & Succession for Senior Physician and Executive recruitment and to the Chief People Officer for process improvement.

Specific Responsibilities:

Strategic Recruitment Leadership:

Design and execute a comprehensive recruitment strategy for executive-level physicians (e.g., Chiefs, Chairs, Medical Directors).

Align physician recruitment efforts with system-wide workforce planning, succession planning, and strategic clinical service line goals.

Develop metrics and analytics to evaluate recruitment performance, time-to-fill, candidate quality, and retention outcomes.

Candidate Sourcing:

Partner with marketing, sourcing teams, and search firms to identify and attract top-tier physician leadership talent.

Guide the development of compelling position profiles and outreach materials tailored to physician executives.

Provide an exceptional candidate experience that reflects Baptist Health’s values and commitment to service excellence

Ensure a high-touch experience throughout all stages of the recruitment and selection process.

Pier Collaboration:

Provide consultative guidance to hiring executives throughout the search process, including market conditions, compensation insights, and talent availability.

Lead and facilitate search committees, including stakeholder alignment on candidate competencies, interview process, and selection criteria.

Coordinate closely with medical staff services, HR, legal, and onboarding teams to ensure seamless transitions for hires.

Team Management & Collaboration:

Mentor a team of recruiters and coordinators assigned to executive/physician recruitment.

Promote a culture of excellence, accountability, service, and diversity within the recruitment team.

Identify professional development opportunities and performance goals for team members.

Process Oversight:

Maintain accurate and timely records in applicant tracking systems and search documentation.

Develop dashboards, metrics, and executive search reports for leadership and governance committees as needed.

Continuously evaluate and improve executive recruitment processes to align with best practices and system-wide objectives.

Monitor and incorporate best practices in executive recruitment and talent acquisition technology.

Education:

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree in healthcare administration, human resources, or related field preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of 7–10 years of progressive experience in physician and executive recruitment, with at least 3 years focused on executive-level roles in a healthcare environment.

Prior leadership work experience in an Executive Retained Search firm required.

Proven experience managing recruitment processes for high-level physician leaders in academic or large integrated health systems.

Skills & Competencies:

Deep understanding of clinical organizational structures and medical staff dynamics.

Exceptional interpersonal, facilitation, and relationship-building skills.

Strong analytical mindset with a data-driven approach to decision-making.

Proficiency with applicant tracking systems and CRM systems, sourcing platforms, and recruitment marketing.

Working Environment:

Hybrid or onsite role with flexibility depending on system needs.

Occasional travel to sites and conferences.
