Database Administrator

About the Role: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Database Administrator (DBA) to join our growing IT team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing and optimizing our organization’s critical databases to ensure performance, availability, and security.

Key Responsibilities: Install, configure, upgrade, and maintain database software (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL). Monitor database performance, implement tuning, and proactively manage capacity.

Ensure database integrity, stability, and system availability.

Develop and implement backup and recovery strategies.

Manage users, roles, and access privileges in accordance with security policies.

Work closely with developers and system administrators to support application performance and troubleshoot issues.

Create and maintain database documentation and standard operating procedures.

Ensure compliance with data governance and cybersecurity regulations.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.

5+ years of experience as a Database Administrator or similar role.

Strong experience with [specify DBMS platforms used – e.g., Oracle, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL, etc.]. Solid knowledge of database security, backup, and recovery.

Experience with replication, clustering, or high availability is a plus.

Proficiency in scripting (e.g., Shell, PowerShell, Python) is a bonus.
