Description:

Knows and uses well the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of a particular field of specialization. Under supervision, performs work that is varied and that may be somewhat difficult in character, but usually involves limited responsibility. No administrative duties involved. Some evaluation, originality or ingenuity is required.

Design software applications for use in computer-controlled machinery.

Estimates hours to complete various steps in the design process.

Create functional Descriptions and specifications.

Create Project Progress Reports.

All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Minimum BS degree in Electronic Engineering (with classes in various software languages) or a BS in Computer Information Science coupled with a minor in Electronic Engineering.

Must be skilled in the use of the Microsoft software development suite (SQL, .NET, C#, etc.) and in process control theory.

PLC programming and Microsoft Visual Studio 6.0 knowledge a plus.

Minimum experience of 1 year.

Physical Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, and use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee may be required to move up to 25 pounds.

Light physical activity performing non-strenuous daily activities of a productive/technical nature.

Work Environment:

The employee performs work in a well-lit, heated indoor office/production setting with adequate ventilation.

Occasional overnight travel (up to 20%) by land and/or air.
