ACCOUNTING ASSISTANT DIRECTOR
Overview/Purpose:
The role of the Accounting Assistant Director has the responsibility of ensuring that Heights Church financial operations are processed and reported accurately with integrity. Duties will include but not be limited to responsibility for assisting the Finance Director with areas of accounting, internal control, auditing, budgeting, and insurance. This position reports to and is accountable to the Director of Finance an maintains close working relationship with the finance team.
IDEAL CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
Strongly preferred four-year college degree in finance/accounting
Strong working knowledge in financial accounting, control, and reporting methods and standards
Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing multiple software including Quickbooks and Excel
Church or church-related (non-profit) experience preferred
The Accounting Assistant Director will be responsible for the following:

2. Execution of Accounting Assistant Director role
Success in this role will be best accomplished by prioritizing an importance for accuracy and understanding of church or church related financials.
Assist with financial reporting, maintain books and records
Manage accounts payable
Coordinate annual budget process and ongoing ministry budget review
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws; file the appropriate tax returns
Facilitate audit work
Reconcile bank accounts
Assist with payroll processing and filing requirements
Maintain fixed asset records
Review and understand all facets of property and liability insurance
Work in conjunction with human resources to manage workers compensation insurance, health insurance, and other employee benefits
Oversee and assist with reporting weekly giving, review annual giving, produce year-end giving reports, and maintain tax reporting requirements
All other duties as assigned by Finance Director
