Dear Applicant:
Thank you for your interest in being substitute nurse in the Catholic schools of the Diocese of Columbus. The Diocese operates 50 schools. While the majority of these schools are located in the Columbus metropolitan area, many are located in smaller towns and rural communities. All exist primarily to teach children to live as Christians and to be happy, productive citizens.
All applicants for substitute nurse positions in the schools of the Diocese of Columbus must complete the following in order to be added to the Diocese of Columbus Substitute Teacher list.
1– Job Application
2– Have a Current Pupil Services License or Student Monitor Permit
3– Current satisfactory BCI & FBI background checks
4– Have attended or be willing to attend a VIRTUS Protecting God’s Children training
5– Sign the substitute teacher job description and employment agreement below and email to Carrie Ramsay at

Be sure to have the results sent to the Diocese of Columbus, Attn: Safe Environment Office, 197 E. Gay Street, Columbus, OH 43215 AND to the State Board of Education of Ohio
The Diocese will maintain your on-line substitute teaching application for two school years. Approved substitutes will receive an e-mail mid-July/early August of every school year asking if they wish to remain on the substitute teacher list for the new school year.
