Job Title: New Hire Utility - Manufacturing Associate

Job Description

The New Hire Utility role is an excellent opportunity for individuals eager to learn and operate equipment associated with extrusion or tube mills while handling aluminum products. This position requires candidates to adhere to safe job practices, standard operating procedures, and quality requirements while working in a team-oriented environment.

Responsibilities

Operate, support, and move materials both on and off machines using lifting techniques and hoists.

Learn 'press team' operations in the aluminum extrusion department.

Ensure all quality objectives are met and assist operators in extrusion or casting equipment.

Report and review unusual conditions to lead operators or supervisors.

Constantly interact with team members and management to meet daily production goals.

Adhere to Union terms regarding shift movement and flexibility, whether a union member or not.Essential Skills

1-2 years of experience in manufacturing, machine operation, or assembly.

General labor and production support skills.

Experience in inventory management and manufacturing processes.

Proficiency in using hand tools and operating forklifts.

Strong verbal and written communication skills.Additional Skills & Qualifications

Mechanical aptitude and interest in machine operation.

Ability to perform physical demands, including lifting weights over 15 lbs and occasionally up to 100 lbs.

Willingness to work 2nd or 3rd shifts up to 12 hours and weekends.

Experience in machine operation and understanding of production process flow.Why Work Here?

Work Environment

The work environment is non-climate controlled and can be loud due to machinery. It is spacious but may get hot during summer. Employees work 8-hour shifts, potentially extending to 10 hours, with varying shifts. Safety gear is provided. The role involves working with grease, oil, and hydraulic fluids essential for machine operations.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of North Chesterfield, Virginia.Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $20.31 - $20.31/hr.
