Our client is partnering with Robert Half to identify a talented Senior Financial Accountant to join our dynamic team in the plastics manufacturing industry. Based in Red Wing, Minnesota, this role offers the opportunity to drive financial planning and operational insights in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will excel in analyzing data, enhancing reporting processes, and collaborating with leadership to optimize business performance.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and manage monthly financial forecasts, including sales, expenses, and capital investment projections.

• Perform detailed variance analyses to identify cost drivers such as labor, materials, and overhead.

• Collaborate closely with operations leadership to provide actionable insights that support strategic decision-making.

• Streamline and enhance financial reporting processes to improve accuracy and efficiency.

• Monitor cost-saving initiatives and evaluate potential capital project opportunities.

• Assist in monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes to ensure compliance and accuracy.

• Maintain adherence to internal controls and accounting standards while supporting audit requirements.

• Lead the creation of ad-hoc financial models to support strategic initiatives and business planning.• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial analysis or accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

• Strong background in cost accounting, with manufacturing cost accounting experience considered a plus.

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with enterprise systems, such as Oracle.

• Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail, with a focus on problem-solving.

• Effective communication and collaboration abilities to work across multiple teams.

• Proven organizational skills to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
