The Business Services Directorate (BSD) at Savannah River National Laboratory (SRNL) seeks an experienced, full-time staff member to fill the role of Senior Functional Analyst to identify inefficient, time-consuming internal processes and then build solutions that are reliable and scalable for SRNL.
The Senior Functional Analyst position is responsible for the functional design, testing, implementation, and support of business systems (primarily Oracle-based) at SRNL along with a focus in data reporting and analytics. The Senior Functional Analyst must be flexible in work assignments to support the mission of SRNL. Responsibilities
Serve as configuration design specialist to support SRNL’s ongoing implementation of Oracle.
Act as primary customer support contact for customers and liaison with the Chief Information Officer organization (CIO) in assigned all functional areas within Business Services (Finance, Projects, Accounting, Payroll, Time and Labor, Procurement).
Consult with managers, business process owners, subject matter experts, system super users, and end users concerning business needs and solutions.
Benchmark industry, suppliers, associations, and other agencies concerning best practices as appropriate. Advise organizational leaders regarding change management practices.
Create business process documents, flow charts, and decision-making documents. Understand and document user requirements.
Develop and propose solutions (both short term and long term), including system configurations, to meet business process needs and requirements. Proposals include writing business cases, identifying requirements, completing gap analyses, researching technical and functional solutions, and converting customer requirements into technical specifications.
Test system configuration, enhancements, and customizations.
Advise and assist end users to understand system data, to determine optimal reports for data extraction, to set report specifications, and to analyze report data.
Develop and initiate training content and provide end-user training.
Identify and initiate process efficiencies to improve existing business processes.
Monitor and apply regulatory and legal changes that affect business processes and system functionality.
Provide expertise on system configuration and functionality for upgrades, maintenance, and enhancements and define requirements.
Initiate and lead design and testing of reports, interfaces, forms, and conversions. Perform validation and reconciliation of data conversions.
Design/recommend and write data queries to develop reporting. Analyze reports and identify needed system specifications.
Utilize business intelligence tools to define, develop, and maintain data reports, dashboards, charts, key performance indicators (KPIs), etc.
Prepare, coordinate, and lead system demonstrations.
Audit and assess validity of data in the SRNL business systems. Recommend system and business process changes to maintain or to increase data integrity and functionality.
Identify new or changed end user security roles. Test/clarify role conflicts and coordinate with business process owners on a strategy.
Communicate information on business processes, incorporating organizational rules, prime contract requirements, and other state and federal regulations. Ensure compliance with data regulations and security protocols.
Research, evaluate, implement, and administer third party software tools to streamline business processes and to enhance business systems’ functionality.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree, with an emphasis in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or other business-related area.
10 years relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Demonstrated ability to learn and support multiple business areas.
For ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, US Citizenship is Legally Required
Preferred Qualifications:
Master’s Degree and/or CPA
Experience with configuration, implementation, and support in one or more of the following Oracle ERP modules desired:
