A DAY IN LIFE AS AN ASSISTANT PURCHASING MANAGER

Under the direction of the Purchasing & Culinary Services Manager, the Assistant Purchasing Manager is responsible for the operation of the Storeroom by assisting with deliveries to be received; checks deliveries against purchase orders and has complete knowledge of receiving, storeroom and purchasing procedures; and performs other necessary duties as requested by the Culinary Leadership team, all while observing the clubs' safety rules and guidelines.

The Assistant Purchasing Manager's daily responsibilities include checking food products, placing stock on shelves in the food storage room, cooler and freezer using the FIFO (first in first out) system to ensure proper stock rotation, and properly dating and storing all items received in proper location per culinary procedures. This position will take ownership in ensuring that the storeroom, freezer, and walk-in coolers are always clean and organized.

QUALIFICATIONS

Detailed knowledge of proper storage requirements.

Requires a polished and professional demeanor in manner and appearance.

Solid judgement, ability to anticipate, and skill in multi-tasking at a high level.

Excellent communication and member service skills both written and verbal

High attention for detail and great organizational skills.

Must have the ability to work in varying temperatures and weather.

Walking and standing for long periods of time is required, as well as the ability to push, pull and lift at least 50 pounds.

Computer savvy including Microsoft Word and Excel, and preferably inventory platform experience

Basic math computation knowledge

Ability to place orders through vendors

Ability to effectively lead and manage people

Food knowledge preferred
