Description:

Who we are

At OpenUp, we're on a mission to make mental well-being accessible to everyone – anytime, anywhere. We support companies, their employees, and their families with a wide range of mental well-being services, all from one platform.

Through OpenUp, people gain access to well-being check-ins, self-guided online courses, articles, videos, interactive group sessions, mindfulness sessions, and a team of certified psychologists and lifestyle experts. We believe mental and physical well-being go hand in hand – and that lifestyle habits like nutrition, exercise, sleep, and stress management are essential for a balanced life. By offering expert support across all these areas, we take a holistic approach to health.

We're proud to be ranked #3 on LinkedIn’s Top Startups 2024 list – and we’re growing fast. With over 1500+ (international) client organisations and 300,000+ supported employees (including companies like Rituals, Deloitte, Decathlon, KPMG and McDonald’s), we’re building the future of well-being at work. And we’re just getting started.

The Role

As HR Manager at OpenUp, you will be a key enabler in making mental well-being accessible by fostering a supportive, efficient, high-performing, and empowering environment for all employees.

You have 5+ years of experience in HR, with at least 2–3 years in an advisory role. You understand the importance of HR Operations and can design and execute processes flawlessly. Additionally, you are able to advise managers and employees on complex HR topics and resolve nuanced situations. You are customer-focused, action-oriented, and thrive in dynamic environments.

We’re looking for someone who can operate at multiple levels: from rolling up their sleeves to handle operational HR tasks to partnering strategically with leadership. You’re a ‘doer’ who’s equally comfortable improving a payroll process as you are advising managers on organizational development or employee relations.

You love managing complexity, optimizing work processes, and building effective teams.

Day-to-day HR operations (onboarding, offboarding, absence management, HR administration, etc.), including continuous improvement of core HR processes and their integration with technology

Monitor and ensure compliance with Dutch labor laws and other relevant regulations, proactively advising on legal risks and changes

Serve as the first point of contact for employees for their inquiries and concerns; providing guidance, advice, and problem-solving throughout their employee experience

Business partner activities, including assessing team needs together with managers and proposing interventions

Collaborate with department leaders to execute HR processes and associated activities and provide strategic guidance

Lead functional ownership in key HR areas such as performance and development, compensation and benefits, engagement, DEIB, and HR technology, ensuring they align with company goals and policies

Design and execute people strategies (e.g., recognition program, engagement survey, etc.)

As part of the leadership team, you will collaborate with other people managers to shape our HR strategy and drive initiatives that support our company’s growth and values. You will manage a small team consisting of the Office Manager and an HR Assistant

About You

Versatile, able to handle both tactical and operational HR tasks with a can-do mentality

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and organize and prioritize work

Interest in developing mental well-being knowledge for self and the organization
