Department: Marketing/Advertisement
Reports To: General Manager
Position Summary: The Director of Marketing directly oversees the entire Marketing Department. This position is responsible for ensuring effective and cost-effective promotions, advertisements and special events as well as maintaining good public relations. The Marketing manager will also assist in the development, coordination, and implementation of special events and promotions, that include excellent communication and providing the necessary training to other staff to ensure promotions are properly advertised and executed. Responsible for protecting casino assets.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Designs and develops appropriate
Responsible for proofreading all advertising materials
Reviews and seeks management approval for all advertising campaigns, g., TV., radio, print media, etc.
Coordinates with advertising agencies and maintains status of advertising to meet
Maintains a proper filing
Provides information to management and assists in monitoring the success of advertising/marketing
Assists in preparing advertising budgets and preparing budget status
Coordinates on/off property signage and monitors
Design, develop and implement a database marketing program for direct mail and able to expand the customer database as relevant and
Plan, arrange and implement special event promotions and publicity
This position has no supervisory
Qualifications:
Must have strong verbal and written communication skills.
Experience in related casino employment or hospitality business preferred.
Have a basic understanding of Santee Dakota historical/ Contemporary history/ Culture that relates to the Ohiya Casino & Resort mission, purpose, and employment.
Must be able to obtain a Santee Sioux Nation Gaming License
Must have the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business/technical procedures, the ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
Must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions
Must have some mathematical skills and reasoning abilities and be a self-starter, self-motivated type of individual
Must be highly competent in computer skills, along with having excellent planning and organizational skills
Requirements:
Must have transportation.
High school graduate or equivalent. College degree preferred
Must be 21 years or older
Prefer a minimum of two years management
Pass a TB test.
Must have a friendly outgoing personality.
Must be a team player.
Must be able to pay attention to details.
Attentiveness and patience for customers and staff.
Ability to multitask in a demanding environment.
Able to lift 50 lbs. or more.
Organization skills.
Must be in excellent health.
Must be able to pass a drug screening and adhere to the tribe’s drug/alcohol free workplace policy.
Maintain a strict confidentiality on Casino business/guest.
In the event the casino falls short of staff, you are required to a mandatory 6-day work week.
Must be able to work weekends and holidays.
Standing/walking the entire shift.
Must have good interpersonal relation skills
Take and pass a medical physical
Excellent communication, organizational, and computer skills
Ability to multitask in a demanding environment
Maintain a positive and professional demeanor during all interactions.
Work Environment:
Fast paced environment.
Preformed work will take place in a loud and smoke related environment.
