Business Unit Overview
This position is part of Novanta’s Corporate and Shared Services global teams. Novanta’s Corporate and Shared Services teams play an important role in executing the company’s strategic mission and operations. Corporate and Shared Services include business functions such as Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Information Technology, Legal, Compliance, Corporate Development and Corporate Marketing. The Corporate and Shared Services teams work closely with all Novanta business units to support operating initiatives contributing to the organization’s financial success.
Job Summary
Novanta is seeking a Part-time Payroll Student Intern (20 hours/week) to join our Human Resources organization. Reporting to the Payroll Manager, Shared Services, this role is responsible for providing support for the day-to-day activities of the Novanta Medical Payroll function. The support involves timely and accurate reporting of all payroll data as directed by the Payroll Specialist and any additional administrative duties requested.
Your Tasks
Czech Payroll Administration
Collect and submit payroll data – new hires, terminations and changes via external provider’s systems.
Check payroll reports against the scanned documents, review for errors, ensure quick correction and problem resolution.
Work with HR partners to resolve discrepancies and research payroll related questions.
Provide administrative support for the tax portal Payminator – set up new hires, follow up with registration, reset passwords and assist employees as needed.
Support other team members and team projects as required.
Occasional business travels (only up to 10% within Czech republic).
Your Profile
University student of HR / Accounting / Business Economics
Experience with Microsoft Office 365 – Outlook, Word and Excel skills
Prior exposure to Payroll or HR is highly beneficial
Good communication skills
Fluent in conversational/business English
Organized and detail-oriented person with good problem-solving skills and ability to multitask
Must handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately
Ability to work at least 3 days/week onsite at the office
