We're seeking an action-oriented engineer with intellectual curiosity who is excited to utilize their potential in testing space flight hardware. As an Engineer I, you will be part of a spacecraft/space vehicle test team as a test engineer, with a focus on writing test scripts to support flight hardware testing.
As an Engineer I, you will work closely with, and be mentored by, experts in the field. You may have the opportunity to lead a significant test activity on a large space vehicle program, lead a subsystem on a small to mid-size effort, or take responsibility as a shift lead during spacecraft acceptance testing.

What You’ll Do:
Work in a fast-paced team environment to integrate and test spacecraft hardware.
Work in cleanroom and lab environments to verify that the hardware meets requirements and characterize/calibrate its performance.
Write, review, update, and execute test procedures and test scripts.
Collaborate with the ground systems, simulators, flight software, and non-flight software teams to architect and design the non-flight software environment.
Write scripts to support the testing of space flight hardware.
Gain a detailed understanding of spacecraft subsystems and their operation.
Support space vehicle launch and commissioning campaigns.
Prepare technical documentation and give presentations to peers and management.
Collaborate with system and subsystem engineers, mission assurance, technicians, and other program personnel.
Use test and measurement equipment to test and troubleshoot spaceflight hardware.
Champion team compliance with company software quality and version control standards.
Maintain test logs and generate test reports.
Maintain a regular and predictable work schedule.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships within the department, the Strategic Business Units, Strategic Capabilities Units and the Company. Interact appropriately with others in order to maintain a positive and productive work environment.
Perform other duties as necessary.
On-Site Work Environment: This position requires regular in-person engagement by working on-site five days each normally scheduled week in the primary work location. Travel and local commute between company campuses and other possible non-company locations may be required.
Working Conditions:
Work is performed in an office, laboratory, production floor, or cleanroom, outdoors or remote research environment.
May occasionally work in production work centers where use of protective equipment and gear is required.
May access other facilities in various weather conditions.

Typically a High School Diploma and 4 years work experience or equivalent experience
Required Skills and Education
BS degree or higher in Engineering or a related technical field is required.
Each higher-level degree, i.e., Master’s Degree or Ph.D., may substitute for two years of experience. Related technical experience may be considered in lieu of education. Degree must be from a university, college, or school which is accredited by an agency recognized by the US Secretary of Education, US Department of Education.
Experience testing and troubleshooting spacecraft, space vehicles, and their related components and systems.
Experience with scripting and programming.
Experience with software configuration management systems, such as Git and GitLab.
Experience with spacecraft command and control systems, simulators, software test benches, and other electrical ground support equipment.
Good communication skills are essential.
Attention to detail, while appreciating the bigger picture of complex and ambitious projects.
A desire to work hands-on with critical space-flight hardware.
Good interpersonal skills and work well in a team environment.
Proficiency in MS Office tools.#LI-AP1
A security clearance or access with Polygraph is not required to be eligible for this position. However, the applicant must be willing and eligible for submission, depending on program requirements, after an offer is accepted and must be able to maintain the applicable clearance/access.
Preferred Skills and Education
Degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or Physics preferred.
Experience with Ruby or Python is desired.
Experience with Docker, Linux, and real-time operating systems is desired.
Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines is desired.
