Job Description
Our wholesale oil transport company, J.B. Clark Transport, is seeking a responsible and diligent Hazmat CDL Fuel Truck Driver to join our growing team. This position allows you to be home every night at a reasonable hour and infrequently work on weekends depending on demand. In this role, you will be responsible for hauling fuel from the terminal in North Augusta, SC to designated wholesale and retail locations in and around Screvin County. This position requires strict adherence to DOT, EPA, and company safety standards while delivering fuel in a timely and professional manner.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely operate a semi truck with 5 compartment fuel tanker trailer from loading fuel at the terminal and delivering to stations, bulk plants, and other customer locations.
When not operating the semi truck/transport, fill in with smaller loads in the tank wagon/short truck.
Ensure accurate documentation of fuel deliveries including bills of lading, delivery tickets, and pre/post-trip inspection reports.
Perform daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and report any mechanical issues.
Monitor customer inventory levels and self dispatch when necessary.
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local regulations including DOT and hazmat safety standards.
Monitor and maintain the quality and integrity of the product during loading, transport, and unloading.
Communicate professionally with dispatch, customers, and terminal personnel.
Follow proper procedures for loading and unloading hazardous materials.
Qualifications:
Valid Class A or B CDL with Hazmat (H) and Tanker (N) endorsements.
Minimum 2 years of CDL driving experience (fuel hauling preferred).
Clean MVR and ability to pass background check, drug screening, and DOT physical.
Knowledge of fuel delivery operations and terminal loading procedures a plus.
Strong attention to safety, detail, and compliance.
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays if needed.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and work in outdoor environments in all weather conditions.
