The Ohio Department of Taxation is responsible for the administration of individual and business taxes across the state. The Ohio Department of Taxation’s Information Technology Division is seeking to fill one (1) Information Technologist 2.

What You'll do as an Information Technologist 2:

• With advanced knowledge in batch processing (e.g., Stars, Revenue Processing, WebUI, Report generation, Correspondence and Mainframe systems), analyze production data to identify inefficiencies, forecast demand, and proactively resolve bottlenecks.

•This data-centric approach supports informed decision-making and continuous improvement.

• Provide timely monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolution of application batch jobs.

• Ensure continuity and coverage during business hours, after-hours, and during peak processing times (e.g., tax filing periods).

• Support requests and issue resolution from Taxation business staff related to production batch processes.

• Improve system resilience and reduce the risk of service disruption due to the current single point of failure.

• Support knowledge transfer and cross-training to prevent future dependency on a single resource.

18 mos. combined work experience in any combination of the following: computers and/or telecommunications software/hardware, applications, support products, projects or databases for small scale systems or programs or pieces of larger systems or programs including 12 mos. combined work experience as specified by the agency position description & job posting.

-Or completion of associate core program in computer science or information systems; 12 mos. combined work experience as specified by the agency position description & job posting.
