POSITION SUMMARY
A Rotating Equipment Engineer is expected to provide safe, cost effective and timely engineered solutions for support of production, maintenance, and all other operating departments within the refinery. Will also provide technical Rotating Equipment Engineering support to the refinery; define/manage/install maintenance projects, interface with capital group as required; and perform engineering studies, advise, and make recommendations for all departments on refinery rotating equipment.
EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
6+ years engineering experience in industrial/refinery
Experience in rotating equipment selection and applications
Knowledge/Experience with industrial lubrication applications
Knowledge/Experience with vibration monitoring and analysis applications
Knowledge/Experience with industrial seal applications
Supporting knowledge of mechanical and piping systems
Good communication skills including ability to read, interpret, create and update; prints, drawings, schematics and diagrams
Knowledge of computer operation and versed in MS Word, MS Excel and other manufactures process control software
Fluent in English, oral and written required
Ability to adjust schedule to meet business needs MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES
Defines scope, estimate costs, time spans, and advisability of engineering projects, capital authorizations, repairs, replacements, etc., and makes appropriate recommendations
Perform detailed engineering designs and supervision of drafting efforts
Complete requisitions that are necessary for materials and equipment
Directs the erection and/or installation of equipment and facilities related to rotating equipment
Contacts, interviews, and requests bids from vendors, engineering consultants, contractors, and other outside organizations as needed
Supervises contractor and/or Refinery personnel to complete work according to engineering specifications in a timely manner
Analyzes and makes recommendations on maintenance of equipment and spare parts storage requirements
Support Vibration Analysis and review/approve recommended solutions
Develops and updates Refinery Rotating Equipment Standards
Provides engineering support for both Operations and Maintenance
Leads/participates Root Cause Failure Analysis investigations
Communicates progress and information to appropriate personnel in a timely manner
Regularly communicate with supervisor work progress, concerns and questions
Provides training for refinery personnel on an as-needed basis
Provides leadership and positive reinforcement of company goals and values
