Job Title: Senior IT Business Analyst (B2B Applications - Energy Industry Preferred)

Location: Remote -Columbus, OH - Local candidates preferred (Some onsite work required)

Type: Contract (6-12 Months) with potential to convert to full-time

Work Schedule: Primarily remote now; hybrid or onsite likely in the future

Availability: Occasional after-hours support for deployments may be required (adjusted work schedule to maintain 40 hrs/week)

Position Summary:

We're seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Business Analyst to support a large B2B enterprise platform enhancement initiative for a leading organization in the utilities sector. This role requires deep experience bridging business operations with Agile software development teams and will play a key role in delivering scalable, strategic solutions for complex systems.

This is a hybrid-focused role requiring local candidates in Columbus, OH, who can attend weekly in-office meetings and participate in after-hours deployments on a rotational basis.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as liaison between business operations and technical teams in Agile environments

Develop detailed user stories in Jira or Azure DevOps

Translate complex business needs into clear, technical requirements

Apply energy billing and B2B exchange logic (EDI knowledge a plus)

Conduct workshops, stakeholder interviews, and process mapping

Use SQL and Power BI for data analysis and reporting

Create strategic application roadmaps and manage development lifecycles

Mentor junior BAs and contribute to process improvement initiatives

Lead change management and support quality assurance efforts Required Qualifications:

10+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in enterprise software environments

Proven success in Agile development environments (Jira or Azure DevOps)

Strong B2B application experience; energy sector experience highly preferred

Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience) in Business, Computer Science, or related field

Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills

Familiarity with SQL queries and relational databases

Experience with stakeholder-facing roles and facilitating strategic planning sessions Additional Notes:

Two-round interview process (strong focus on communication skills)

Travel outside Ohio is not expected

Must be flexible to support after-hours deployments on occasion
