What you'll do
As a Senior Electromagentic Engineer - Motor Design, you will be critical team member to develop high-performing electric motors designs using Iron Nitride Magnets. We have a once-in-a-generation new magnetic material. We are building a world-class motor team, and we are looking for its founding members.
Technical Expertise and Design
Design and optimize electric motors (including permanent magnet motors) using advanced electromagnetic simulation tools
Analyze magnetic circuits, flux paths, and torque production to meet performance targets
Evaluate the impact of magnetic materials on motor performance and efficiency
Document detailed designs, test reports and processes
Modeling and Testing
Use FEA tools (e.g., ANSYS Maxwell, JMAG, Motor-CAD) to simulate electromagnetic behavior.
Perform thermal and loss analysis to ensure reliability and compliance with design specifications
Collaborate to build and test motor prototypes
Interpret data to validate and refine design
Cross-functional collaboration
Collaborate cross-functionally magnet and motor design teams to ensure alignment between motor-level and material-level performance What we're looking for
Degree in Electrical Engineering, Electromagnetic Engineering or related field
Minimum of 5 years of hands-on electric motor design experience with focus on electromagnetic analysis
Experience with application-based motor design software tools (e.g., ANSYS Maxwell, Motor-CAD, JMAG, COMSOL)
Familiarity with thermal modeling and mechanical integration
Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
Effective written and verbal communication skills that adapt to the audience (e.g., internal vs. customers) Our pay and benefits
Salary: $100,000 - $140,000 annually, depending on experience, education, and skills
