Scientific Drilling is looking for an Electronic Engineer I or II to join our Applied Technologies Center in Paso Robles, CA. The ideal candidate will have a strong aptitude for analog and digital electronics and an ability to both learn and contribute in a cross-functional team environment with electronics, mechanical and firmware engineers.

Our Electronic Engineer will work in our Research and Development Department and is expected to perform the essential duties listed below. Candidates must have authorization to work in the United States.
Key Job Functions:
Design and test electronic circuits and components for use in down-hole applications where tools must function to 175C+ temperatures and survive a high vibration environment using electronic theory and application principles
Work in multi-disciplinary team environment with mechanical engineers, electronic engineers, manufacturing engineers and production staff, and field specialists
Design electronic circuits and create circuit board layouts and routing
Document printed circuit board assembly design and bill of materials
Create wiring diagrams, system schematics, and specifications
Develop electrical test requirements and assist in test procedure development for production implementation
Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve electronic component issues for new and existing products
Address field service reliability and safety issues with timely engineering analysis and design solutions
Act as functional lead for projects, project deliverables, and/or sustaining support
Lead delivery of cross-functional requirements related to project assignment
Complete administrative tasks to accomplish safety and project reporting requirements
Travel domestically or internationally may be required, up to 10%
Perform other relevant duties as assigned by the needs of the business

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in electronic engineering or related engineering discipline
0-5 years of experience as an electronic engineer or equivalent
Experience with Altium or similar design tools
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint
