This position involves driving cargo vans and light trucks to pick up and deliver medical supplies, mail, and other materials on scheduled routes. Responsibilities include keeping deliveries secure, maintaining a timely schedule, performing minor vehicle maintenance, assisting in the mailroom, and keeping accurate records. The role also requires completing training on workplace policies and safety.
The most important duties for this position include:
Loading, Transporting, and Delivering Materials - Ensuring the safe and timely transport of pharmaceuticals, medical supplies, mail, payroll, office supplies, and other materials on scheduled local and statewide routes.
Vehicle Operation and Safety - Driving cargo vans and light trucks in various weather and traffic conditions while securing both the vehicle and its contents.
Schedule Adherence - Maintaining a timely daily route schedule and ensuring deliveries are accurate by checking staged deliveries against institutional forms.
Vehicle Maintenance and Reporting - Performing minor maintenance (e.g., refueling, checking oil, tires, battery) and reporting any malfunctions or repair needs to the supervisor.
Inventory and Record-Keeping - Verifying delivered materials against invoices and maintaining records of mail, equipment, supplies, and delivery schedules.
Mailroom Assistance - Helping with mail processing and distribution as needed.
Compliance and Training - Completing required educational training on topics like ethics, HIPAA, EEO, and workplace safety. This is an hourly position covered by the OCSEA/AFSCME bargaining unit (union), with a pay range of 5 on the OCSEA Pay Range Schedule . Working hours will vary based on operational needs. Typical shifts will fall between 5:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m., with some days starting at 7:00 a.m. and ending at 3:30 p.m. Daily start times are determined by the specific route assignment being covered. This position is located within our Ohio Pharmacy Services at 2150 W. Broad St., Columbus, Ohio 43223 .
Unless required by any applicable union contract and/or requirements of the Ohio Revised Code, the selected candidate will begin at Step 1 of the pay range schedule listed above, with an opportunity for pay increase after six months of satisfactory performance and then a yearly raise thereafter.

Formal education in arithmetic to include addition, subtraction, multiplication & division & in reading, writing & speaking English; valid driver's license.
