Power BI Analyst

Job Description

A Power BI Analyst transforms raw data into actionable insights by designing and developing interactive dashboards and reports. They work with stakeholders to understand data needs, prepare data, build data models, and present findings in compelling ways, using tools like SQL and Power BI.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Advanced Power Query knowledge. This means a person should be able to build queries via code, not just the GUI. It is important, as much of PowerQuerys functionality cannot be accessed through the GUI.

Knowledge of how to manage Power BI through the web portal.

Ability to optimize queries to reduce report workload.

Experience working with PowerBI Embedded Analytics (which has subtle but important differences from regular Power BI)

Experience implementing Row-Level Security in both static and dynamic configurations.

Knows how to work with and maintain Microsoft On-Premise Data Gateways.

Experience working with the Microsoft Graph API to aid in PowerBI tasks.

Experience writing queries for Oracle DB.

SKILLS ABILITIES

Education: Bachelord degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, or related field

Experience: Experience with data modeling and visualization. Knowledge of SQL and other data manipulation tools.

Computer Skills:

Two or more years of experience with technology, including computer systems, is required.

The ability to quickly learn new software is required. Knowledge of SQL and other data manipulation tools.

Certificates and Licenses: Microsoft Power BI certification(s) preferred
