Job Summary
Join our passionate team as a Shore Excursions Specialist, where you’ll play a pivotal role in crafting unforgettable experiences for travelers exploring breathtaking destinations! This dynamic administrative position is all about managing and optimizing the inventory of shore excursions to ensure revenue maximization and cost efficiency. You will be the driving force behind the request, loading, and maintenance of exciting excursion offerings, collaborating with diverse teams to deliver seamless operations. Plus, you’ll have the opportunity to support the Shore Excursions Manager in implementing innovative departmental initiatives, making a real impact on our guests’ journeys. Essential Functions
Develop comprehensive inventory allotment sheets that detail available excursions, ensuring that both inventory and associated content are accurate, up-to-date, and aligned with brand standards.
Proactively request inventory from tour operators, load it into the company system, and continuously monitor for any changes or updates to ensure all excursions are adequately represented and available for sale.
Review and verify all excursion content received from tour operators before publication to ensure alignment with RCYC brand guidelines, marketing tone, and compliance standards.
Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to track and manage inventory for private excursions, ensuring content and availability are accurately reflected and seamlessly integrated with the broader shore excursion offerings.
Act as the primary point of contact for the Sales teams regarding inventory and content-related requests, ensuring they have the necessary information to sell shore excursions effectively.
Assist in implementing departmental initiatives by providing data analysis, reporting, content verification, and logistical support to help achieve strategic objectives.
Provide coverage for the Shorex Sales team when needed, stepping in to assist with urgent content or inventory-related tasks to maintain workflow continuity.
Regularly audit tour participation metrics and related content to identify trends, optimize revenue opportunities, and implement risk mitigation strategies to minimize cancellations or low participation rates.
Monitor inventory levels and release unused reservations promptly to avoid cost penalties and ensure excursions are accurately reflected in all guest-facing systems.
Create and distribute preliminary manifests—including verified excursion descriptions and logistics—to tour operators ahead of each cruise.
Compile and verify onboard team and tour operator manifests and reports, ensuring all logistical and content-related information is accurate and accessible to relevant stakeholders within scheduled timelines.
Competency
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Hospitality, Business Administration, or equivalent
Skills & Experience:
Minimum 1 year of relevant shore excursion experience
Knowledge of a wide range of itineraries, ports, and tours is preferred
Analytical skills with attention to detail
Superior customer service - strongly oriented towards guest satisfaction
Strong organization & multi-tasking
Proactive hands-on attitude
Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
Ability to maintain positive, pleasant behavior while engaging guests & tour operators
Excellent written & verbal communication and fluency in English
Ability to solve problematic situations in a quick, efficient manner
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Ability to travel if needed, including internationally
Expected Hours of Work
The position is full-time and frequently requires working additional time outside of normal business hours.
