Program Manager - MAP Certified House Manager
More about the position:
Specifically, the Program Manager (House Manager) will run the day to functions of one of our residential homes, including supervising house staff, fulfilling program development and administrative responsibilities, coordinating behavior program planning and medications, coordinating all individual services, supervising care staff, managing program finances, and physical site, and function as a liaison with families, neighbors, employers and government agencies.
Also, the House Manager will provide direct care to residents with a focus on daily living skills and case management. We're looking for candidates with the vision and drive to run the day to the day of the home, have a vision for continuing to refine and improve programming, and can build a warm, welcoming home where all participants meet their fullest potential.
Financial Monitoring and Supervision
Teach budgeting skills to individuals; follow financial plans for individuals to maximize their
independence
Maintain contact with SSI/SSA and ensure regular ongoing reporting of all necessary information or assist guardian/conservator in their reporting
Handle individual and house petty cash; maintain housing financial records; approve timesheets for all staff; maintain house budgets
Medical
Maintain up to date DDS required medical and dental records
Follow and train staff on all medical protocols and Doctor Orders; follow all MAP guidelines for all areas of Medication Administration
Arrange and attend all medical appointments and handle all medical emergencies; Input all medical information and appointments into eHana; updating HCR and other medical assessments in HCSIS; accompany and advocate for residents at emergency room visits and urgent care centers
Staff Supervision and Management
Responsible for the overall vision, functioning, and quality of the program
Serve as the primary manager in charge during each working day, providing direction to regular and relief staff; provide staff training; conduct monthly supervision sessions with each staff member
Participate in hiring, orientation, supervision, and evaluation of all house staff members; facilitate monthly staff meetings
Meet regularly with the Program Director and participate in all management meetings, as scheduled
Religious
Provide opportunities for meaningful, spiritually fulfilling religious activities for each individual according to his/her own religious preference and background
Individual Services
Monitor and train staff on all individual services within the program; Provide direct care services to the individuals in the program; serve as the Human Rights and/ or Fire Safety Officer
Develop and maintain data collection systems for each individual and ensure systems are being utilized
Supervise the development of all individuals' ISPs and all aspects of ensuring goals of the ISPs are met
Provide monthly and quarterly updates; train all staff on the implementation
Maintain program records
Follow and train staff on all dietary protocols for each individual (nutrition, meal preparation, feeding support, table manners, etc.)
Provide support with lifting; transferring individuals from bed into wheelchair or from wheelchair to bed may be required
Support program participants' right to express their religious affiliations and cultural traditions through preferred and relevant activities
Recreation
Organize and ensure staff carry out diverse educational and recreational activities for all individuals; transport individuals to recreational activities, by personal vehicle or agency vehicle
Programmatic
Assist the Program Director on developing budget recommendations; assist the Program Director in developing and implementing program procedures
Oversee supply inventory; oversee daily upkeep of the house and managing maintenance; daily documentation in each individual's binder
Participate in program licensing procedures in coordination with QA Manager and Program Director; maintain compliance with regulatory, accreditation, and licensing affiliates
Completing and reviewing all Human Rights items within the program
Responsible for providing last-minute coverage for staff absences if coverage; Participate in the on-call rotation and provide weekend support as necessary
Must be available to provide shift oversight on all shifts.
Communication
Ensure each individual has the opportunity for choice: food, TV, activity, etc.
Participate in and be responsible for shift report oversight at the start and end of each shift for incoming/outgoing staff, including sicknesses, hospitalizations, behaviors and review logbook; maintain timely and effective communication regarding individual updates to the Program Director and house staff
Maintain positive communication with families of individuals, neighbors, employers, and service professionals.
Safety
Organize, participate, and complete monthly fire drills
Ensure the residence and egresses are clean report all environmental hazards; complete monthly safety inspections
Ensure staff/ individual ratios are maintained at all times
Provide proper supervision to staff and individuals at the residence and in the communities
All staff need to be knowledgeable in universal contact, isolation precautions and proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Qualifications:
You have a minimum of three (3) years of direct care experience at a human services agency, including some experience working with people with developmental or intellectual disabilities
You have at least one year of management experience
You have demonstrated teaching and training skills
You have strong written and verbal communication skills and can interact with individuals/staff/families and the program team in a professional manner
You bring vision and creativity to ensure your residential home's program is always improving, trying new ideas, and creating the best possible environment for our individuals
You are Medication Administration Certification (MAP) certified in Massachusetts
You can lift, transfer, and support the body weight of any program individual with the help of another employee
MUST HAVE: valid driver's license and a CLEAN driving record
and a willingness to use agency vehicle in the course of employment.
Must meet Massachusetts Criminal Offender Record Information (CORI) background check requirement
You have flexibility for early morning and later evening availability in addition to weekend availability when needed. The regular hours of the role at 9am - 5pm, Monday through Friday
You have a High School Diploma
Preferred qualifications (but not required):
Bachelor's or Associate Degree Details: This is a full-time position (9am to 5pm) based at our 1751 Washington St., Newton residential home as well as additional hours on a night and monthly on-call rotation for weekends. You will report to the V.P. of Residential.
