Main Purpose:
Responsible for coordinating and implementing the Puma Energy’s security protocols to required standards. The Security Coordinator is primarily responsible for protection of Puma Energy’s personnel and assets at Napa Napa Terminal but will also oversee other sites in Port Moresby and throughout Papua New Guinea, as determined by Security Manager.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities, Key Responsibilities:
Conduct routine inspections and spot checks on contracted security providers to ensure that they comply with their contractual obligations.
Assist Terminal Managers and Aviation Depot Supervisors to maintain Discipline, Punctuality and Time keeping of all security personnel to ensure that absences are controlled, unnecessary overtimes are avoided, shifting and work schedules are followed and appropriate disciplinary procedures or protocols are upheld.
Assess training needs and coordinate conduct of on-the-job trainings to the Contract Guards.
Compile and present the weekly security report to the security manager at the end of each week.
Manage and immediately report any incident to the Security Manager and/or HSEC Manager.
Conduct inspection and Maintain all security devices and equipment in good working condition.
Conduct all work and activities in accordance with the requirements laid down in the HSEC Management system and related manuals, policies, procedures and work instructions.
Develop security plans and ensure timeliness and effectiveness of these plans through security drills and exercises
Conduct security audits and assessment as required by the Security Manager in accordance with the Global Security Standards.
Liaise with Regional and Provincial Police, Military and other Law Enforcement Agencies as advised by Security Manager in Puma Energy
Conduct monthly security meetings with security contractors to address issues for each Puma Site.
Conduct Investigation on security incidents and manage all security investigations conducted and entered into safeguard.
Respond and Coordinate all Emergency incidents encountered by Puma Energy Sites and personal

Comply with the Company’s procedures and the relevant legislation regarding the Injury Management process.
To formally report to their Manager any concern or incident / injury / non-conformance in any aspect of their work and complete the Puma Energy PNG Incident / Non Conformance Report form.
To formally report to their Manager or supervisor any hazard, practice or condition that will affect safety or production or the community.
All forms are completed as outlined in the procedures
Any discrepancies of goods / services received are to be addressed through the Non Conformance procedures
All products are to be verified at appropriate stages as outlined in procedures and a record maintained
Requirement:
Experience:
Possession of a recognized tertiary qualifications or certificate in Security Management of an industrial complex
Relevant experience as a team leader or have displayed an ability to lead big groups
Must be of sound character. Police clearance certificate is required
Previous experience with any private security organization, police or military would be an advantage
Skills:
Good written and oral skills (English)
Bilingual: English and Pidgin plus (depending on location).
Competencies:
Weapons handling and protection
Basic knowledge of industrial safety
Techniques to detect weapons, explosives, etc.
High degree of patience
Confidentiality of information
Key Relationships and Department Overview:
Internal – Terminal Managers, Aviation Depot Supervisors, Regional Operations Managers.
External – Contracted Security Provider management, Security Industry Networks. Police, Military and other law enforcement agencies
