Job Description
The Custodial Worker Lead provides leadership and direction for housekeeping services to various Student Life areas as assigned; will be assigned to different work areas as workload requirements vary (such as summer semester, break periods, training periods, and team call-offs); communicates work assignments as needed, as assigned by Housekeeping Manager; responds to emergencies and checks work performed by team for completion; serves as front-line workers’ subject matter expert on cleanliness practices as needed; may assist with training and development of custodial staff; leads projects including furniture inventory, storage rooms, carpet care program, and wall washing; coordinates time and leave for employees; prepares inventory; requests supplies and equipment; responsible for conflict resolution; promotes safety and security principles; this position works third shift from 10:30 pm - 7:00 am Sunday - Thursday; may be required to work varied shifts and/or adjust work hours within a 48 hour advanced notice due to operational needs; requires driving company vehicles to travel and transport staff between multiple facilities based upon business needs. The Custodial Worker Lead must successfully complete and pass the CMI Basic Module training during their probationary period-failure to do so may result in probationary removal; CMI Advance Module Training must successfully be completed and passed within first years of hire.
Qualifications
Required: Six months in Custodial Worker 2 title or equivalent experience; documentation of successful completion of department specific, advanced custodian certification testing (examples include Cleaning Management Institute, 3M(TM) S.M.A.R.T. Program, or other certification program recognized in the cleaning industry as reputable); ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide whole numbers and to read and write common vocabulary plus; documentation of 100 hours training in operation of cleaning equipment (or 1 mo. exp.); 100 hours documentation of training in supervision (or 1 mo. exp.); or equivalent; must maintain a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record to obtain approval to operate state vehicles.
Desired: High School diploma; 3 years of housekeeping/custodial experience in a commercial, institutional or educational environment desired; proven ability to establish positive working relationships with staff, students and guests in assigned area; proficiency with Microsoft Office Programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access) desired; electronic timekeeping experience desired; ability to lift and/or move furniture; ability to lift 30 to 100 pounds desired. Requires successful completion of a background check.

Compensation
The pay range for this position is $16.90 - $21.97 based on experience. This position is eligible for evening and weekend shift premiums as applicable.
